Our executive is composed of a team of three board members bring on board over 50 years of combined experienced and expertise. Since the formation of Benaphil Institute of Research and Development in 2014 , our executives have been at the helm, skillfully leading a team of 20 full time seasoned experts across Africa, shaping innovative solutions and impactful strategies.
Dr. Philemon Yugi, MPH, PhD
Founder & Managing Director.
Dr. Philemon Yugi is an esteemed expert with over 20 years of experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation, organizational development, and capacity building. As the Founder and Director of both Benaphil Institute of Research and Development and Benaphil Consultants, Dr. Yugi has led the organizations in delivering innovative, research-driven solutions that empower organizations across Africa and beyond.
Holding a Doctorate in Organization Development and Transformation and a Master of Public Health, Dr. Yugi has managed and advised on diverse programs funded by multilateral and bilateral donors, including USAID, UN/WFP, CIDA, and EUSIDA. His expertise spans public health, governance, and sustainable development, where he has successfully spearheaded projects in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and South Sudan.
Dr. Yugi is also a senior lecturer at Daystar University, guiding postgraduate students in development studies and monitoring and evaluation. His passion for fostering local solutions to development challenges is evident in his hands-on approach to building institutional capacity through research, strategic planning, and the application of innovative solutions tailored to the needs of the communities and organizations he serves.
Under his leadership, Benaphil has become a trusted partner in delivering high-quality research, monitoring and evaluation systems, and strategic organizational development. Dr. Yugi’s vision is to create sustainable solutions that promote a better, safer, and healthier society for all.
Benter Osara, MSc
Chief Operating Officer
Benter Osara is a highly skilled and dedicated professional with over a decade of experience managing the operations of both Benaphil Institute of Research and Development and Benaphil Consultants. With a deep understanding of the development sector, Benter has been instrumental in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services across various sectors, including research, capacity building, and project management.
Her leadership is defined by an unwavering commitment to professionalism and excellence, guiding both organizations to consistently meet client expectations while fostering long-lasting partnerships. Under her stewardship, Benaphil has successfully implemented numerous projects across East Africa, contributing to sustainable development and organizational growth.
